What Our Clients Are Saying...
From Arwa C, Fairfax, VA
Amy and Bruce Spence were amazing with getting my house sold. It’s really difficult to trust people these days, but the Spences showed me that there are still people (realtors in this case) who are trustworthy. The Spences helped me sell my house while I was miles away. It actually sold quicker than I had expected despite the seller’s market trend. It was put up for sale in June, I received an offer in August, and closed in October. All of this happened without me being in the same State. The Spences know firsthand what it means to be in the military, which is why I put my trust in them and their ability to sell my house with hardly any complications. Amy was always available, open, and honest throughout the whole process. Many thanks to both of you.

Amy, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your patience and thoroughness in researching every aspect of my offers and home searches. I know this has been a long drawn out process and, unfortunately for you, I’m probably not one of the typical buyers who buys after seeing about 3-4 homes. I can only hope and pray that this all works out and that we can bring this to an end. But, I will be saddened by not seeing you any longer. I’ve looked forward to seeing you just about every weekend for the last several months and getting to know you and your family. It’s been my privilege to have you as my realtor and I wish you a successful career in real estate as you continue your journey. May God Bless you and your family!
From Amy & Allen, Lakenheath AB.
Here is our story,
We listed our home for sale on June 2007 with the same agent we bought the house through 2 years prior…we thought we were in good hands. About 3 months later we started realizing that we had made a big mistake. The AC unit was leaking and needed to be fixed, since we were overseas, I asked him if could find someone for us. He told me that I just needed to Google and find someone. Of course, they needed someone to let them in the house. I called our realtor and asked him if he could meet the repair guy…he agreed…but had a pretty nasty attitude. Then he called about our yard. Once again, I asked him if he knew of someone and once again he referred me to Google.
About 3 months later, we received an email from a good friend who told us that our house was not looking so good. It had all kinds of correspondence, newspapers and even phone books just sitting there. We contacted our realtor and he told us that he hadn’t been by our house in almost 3 months. So let’s just say that we fired him!
A few days later, Mrs. Spence sent me an email telling me that she had heard of our situation and asked if she could help out. So we gave them a chance…I wish we would’ve done that from the very beginning. A few weeks later we had a few offers, granted they weren’t the best ones but, people were actually taking an interest and looking at our house. It was all because of them. They listed our home on a few different websites and they marketed our home the way it was supposed to. Our previous realtor just had our house listed on one website.
About 3 months in to it, we got an offer and we accepted. The house needed a few repairs since it was empty for so long. Mrs. Spence told us what needed to be fixed and told us how to go about getting it fixed. They contacted different companies, sent us estimates, set up appointments and even offer to meet the repair people. Both Mr. and Mrs. Spence went well above and beyond to take care of us. That’s not the end of it.
A few days prior to closing, the buyer changed his mind. Once again, Mrs. Spence contacted a lawyer and got some legal advice. We didn’t take any legal action but she truly did everything she could do to get the “buyer” to keep his end of the bargain. Our house payments were really hurting our pockets, so she did what was best for us. She suggested we rented for a year and then try again. Once again, she went out of her way to take care of us. She did some research and sent us names of different property managers.
Our home is currently being rented thanks to her. We plan to market our home again in a year or two and when we do, I will be contacting Mr. & Mrs. Spence. I know they will take care of us and do what’s best for us. They are truly trustworthy people and we owe them a lot.
